SDL and Fer De Lance Darts!
We realized we lost quite a number of darts after a simple dart sorting and checking , so we ordered some more to restock! The Fer De Lance darts (left) and the SDL Dart Tag Darts (right). These darts are available at Black-Tactical.
FER DE LANCE DARTS:
We use the FDL darts as a substitute for Streamline darts - they work perfectly! In fact , they fit almost any Nerf gun! They come in a pack of 30 for $10.90. Theoretically they should fly further more accurately due to a weighted tip (unlike Nerf Streamlines which flight paths are fairly unpredictable due to light weighted tips) , but could easily weave of path due to a non aerodynamic shape. But those complicated theories aside , these darts are definitely worth getting!
SDL DART TAG DARTS:
We decided to buy (and try out) SDL tagger darts because Nerf Tagger darts are $14 a pack , and these are just $9.90 for 30 darts! They appear to have a lighter body and heavier tip , meaning they could be slightly more accurate and could fly further! The Velcro tips stick fairly well to our tagger vests so far , and the tips are rather hard compared to the Nerf version. If you want some cheap tagger darts that work (maybe work even better) , you should defiantly get a pack of these!

REVIEW :: Nerf Dart Tag Furyfire
I got this as a gift after getting a birthday bash......7 days after my birthday.
NERF DART-TAG FURYFIRE:
Where my friends bought it and price:
- Toys 'R Us
- $59 (September holidays offer)
Comes with:
- 2 Furyfire guns (Green and Orange)
- 20 Dart tag darts (10 Green , 10 Orange)
- 2 Vision gear glasses
- 2 Dart tag vests (Green and orange)
Range:
- About 25+ feet
Dart compatibility:
- All nerf darts. Works best with Tagger darts (duh).
Gun:
- Its like an enlarged Spectre/Maverick! But the pump handle is where your off hand grips the gun so it makes priming the gun much faster than the Spectre/Maverick. The Dart cylinder doesn't swing out but you can still load it from the front.
Vision Gear:
- These aren't sunglasses! So don't be dumb and look at the sun with them! They only protect your eyes from flying darts!
GREEN tagger darts:
- They're green! Apparently one of the few ways to get more of these(as far as we know) is to buy a $20 Fastload sleeve , it comes with 10 Green and 10 Orange tagger darts.
Dart Tag vests:
- These are pretty small , but they work good. The only set back to this is that when you strap it on , leave some slack. The reason is that you need to have it abit "soft" so the tagger darts can stick easily on them. If the vest is tightened until it feels like a solid wall , the darts bounce right off them!
What we say:
- I had a short 2v2 Match at my void deck to test out these guns , and this is what I have to say for now. These are some pretty good guns ; though they have quite some range ,they are best suited for Close Quarter Combat. Seriously - in CQB , the 10 Dart capacity is enough to pull you through a match (If used with strategy of course , not spamming shots all over the place). You should seriously consider buying this pair of guns if you are splitting costs with a friend.

REVIEW :: Nerf Stampede ECS
Epic gun. Thats all that I have to say.
NERF STAMPEDE ECS:
Where we bought it and price:
- Takashimaya ( Was on 20% offer , about $80)
- Black-Technology.com ($94)
(YES WE HAVE 2 STAMPEDES! WOO)
Comes with:
- Gun
- Attachable blast shield
- Fore grip / Bi-pod attachment
- 3x 18-Dart clips
- 1x 6-Dart clip
- 60 Darts
Range:
- 20+ feet
Dart compatibility:
- Streamline only
Gun:
- Fully automatic , doesn't even have a manual priming system like the vulcan does. Darts sometimes jam inside the barrel but unjamming is as simple as opening the unjamming door and tipping the gun to let the dart roll out.
18 Dart clips:
- Awesome , its like the 35-Dart drum but more compact and portable! Though take good care of loading it as it really only can take up to 18 darts without jamming , and darts not aligned properly can cause your gun to jam as well.
Blast shield:
- Quite useful. It limits your vision , but if you are sharp enough to spot a dart flying at you quickly use the shield to block it off - if your game rules allows it though.
Bi-pod / Fore grip:
- Really comfortable to use! The bi-pod is great for setting your gun down standing up and making it look cool , instead of making it lay down on the floor. But the 18-Dart clip is so long that once its loaded in the gun , the bi-pod can't even touch the floor!
What we say:
- Really awesome gun , and its even more awesome when you put in the 35-Dart drum! The only thing that sets it back is that its quite heavy , and this 'toy' was ment for 6+ year old kids! Stampede + Vulcan in base defense = EPIC WIN!
REVIEW :: Nerf Nitefinder EX-3
I <3 using it as a side arm.
NERF NITEFINDER EX-3:
Where we bought it and price:
- Toys 'R Us
- Was about $16 or $18
Comes with:
- Gun and 3 Sucker darts
Range:
- 25+ Feet
Dart compatibility:
- All nerf darts except streamline
Gun:
- Pretty good gun for such a compact size , but not so good for a primary weapon because of slow manual loading.
Built in 'laser':
- Useless. Don't even bother wasting your time putting batteries into the gun.
What we say:
- Make sure to push the dart all the way in or it will just pathetically drop out! This is a pretty good gun for it's size , and can save you some game lives when you carry it around loaded as a secondary weapon while charging with your main weapon!
Post Game Review :: Tree Garden Park [4/9/10]
REVIEW :: Nerf BarrelBreak IX-2
I had to pay for this with a bunch of 10 cent coins.
BARRELBREAK IX-2:
Where we bought it and price:
- Toys 'R Us
- Price around $49
Comes with:
- Gun , ammo rail and 10 darts
Range:
- 15 feet
Dart compatibility:
- Works best with Tagger,Suction and Whistler darts.
- Streamlines tend to get jammed.
Gun:
- Priming mechanism is integrated with the barrel breaking system that able to load your darts and simply
ready to fire. able to shoot 2 bullets at once or one at a time , depending on how far you pull the trigger.
Ammo rail:
- Holds 8 darts , but holds quite loosely so try not to knock your darts off.
What we say:
- This gun is usually use more as a close range weapon than a far range weapon which is effective if any enemies came nearby.Though I must comment that the gun has an exceptionally long range for such a small plunger(s) (the plunger(s) in the gun is infact quite small). The ammo rail is a great addition to this gun in order to minimize reload time. However one must take a great deal of attention into reloading this gun ; as during the heat of battle , darts might not be loaded properly and thus cause the gun to j
REVIEW :: Nerf Spectre Rev-5
Joel's new favorite gun! <3
NERF SPECTRE REV-5:
where we bought it and price:
- Toys 'R Us
- About $36 (Quite a good price for such a gun IMO)
comes with:
- Gun
- Barrel extension
- Foldable Buttstock
- 5 Whistler darts
Range:
- Ours is exceptionally far , about 30+ feet! (actually what the box says for once)
Dart compatibility:
- All nerf darts , works best with Tagger or Whistler
Gun:
- It works like a revolver , it has a revolving cylinder chamber to hold 5 darts in it. With a push of a button , it swings out and allows your to load your darts. The gun is primed with a sliding handle about the gun , and the action also turns the cylinder to the next dart.
Barrel extension:
- Rarely causes some dart jams inside , but it doesn't really affect the darts (unlike the recon)
- Looks cool on the gun with the buttstock
Buttstock:
- Its foldable!
- Looks cool on the gun with the Barrel
What we say:
- If you are planning to get a nerf Maverick , you should get this instead - after all its only $12 more. Its very reliable and rarely jams , on the occasion it does jam its really easy to unjam it.
Review :: Nerf Deploy CS-6
This gun has always been Jamie's (Joel's sister) primary weapon , ALWAYS. The thing is that this gun is even more awesome with the Raider's Drum Mag.
NERF DEPLOY CS-6:
Where we bought it and price:
- Toys 'R Us
- Around $50
Comes with:
- Gun , 1 Clip and 6 Darts
Range:
- About 20 feet , but ours is modified and goes around 40+ feet.
Dart compatibility:
- Streamline only
Gun:
- Can be 'folded' into compact mode , and with a push of a button on top it will pop back into a shootable blaster. The pump handel is right where your other hand would be so it makes priming the gun much faster than those guns with the priming handle above the gun (such as the Recon and Specter). Has build in aiming sights on the carrying handle.
Laser built into the gun:
- Seriously useless , works exactly the same way as the nerf 'tactical laser'
What we say:
- This gun has proved VERY useful in many of our games. Because of the priming handle being more easily accessible than most of the other nerf guns , it allowed me to prime and fire faster than most of my opponents. This gun is even more awesome with the drum mag! Of course the Raider beats this gun by a longshot (No pun intended) , because the Deploy has no slam fire function.
REVIEW :: Nerf Raider CS-35
I (Joel) personally love this gun. It's one of my favorites to use.
NERF RAIDER CS-35:
Where we bought it and price:
- Toys 'R Us
- Current price around $70
- We bought it for $50 when it was on offer
Comes with:
- Gun , extend-able buttstock , 35 Dart drum clip and 35 darts.
(Not in picture: Buttstock - I painted it and put it on another gun , i figured that you wouldn't want to see a buttstock painted black with a nicely coloured blue blaster)
Range:
- 20+ Feet
Dart compatibility:
- Streamline only
Gun:
- Its most awesome feature: Slam fire. Hold on to the trigger and keep pumping the priming handle , it will shoot darts continuously (Demo video at the bottom of the post , from Toys 'R Us). How fast it shoots its entirely based on how fast you can pump the gun.
Extend-able buttstock:
- Its very comfortable , and adjustable.
Drum clip:
- It holds 35 Darts , and it works just like a normal 6 dart clip. Meaning you can put it on your other Clip System guns!
What we say:
- Awesome gun , you should get one if you are a regular nerf player. Its slam fire function makes it a very versatile gun ; you could fire off single darts from a 6-dart clip , and when things get heated , grab your 35 Dart drum and spray away! The guys apparently use this gun for 'CHOINGING!!' (CHARGE!!!)
REVIEW :: Nerf Recon Cs-6
So this was the very first nerf gun we (more like just Joel) picked up , and here is what you need to know about the gun:
NERF RECON CS-6:
Where we bought it and price:
- Toys 'R Us , about $45 (We think)
Comes with:
- The gun , barrel extension , butt stock , laser and aiming sights.
- 1 Clip and 6 Darts
Range:
- 20+ feet
Dart compatibility:
- Streamline only
Gun:
- Good , but jams frequently
Barrel extension:
- Sort of increases accuracy but decreases range and darts sometimes get jammed inside
Butt stock:
- Comfortable!
Laser:
- Useless , only for aesthetics
Aiming Sights:
- Sort of useful , but darts follow a ballistic trajectory (they curve down due to gravity)
What we say:
- The recon is a gun that served us well in our games. But it tends to jam alot midway in game , so make sure to bring along a prodding stick to poke out jammed darts. Try not to get this gun (or any other Clip System gun) for your first nerf gun because you need to buy extra clips , and that would cost you.
Hi we're from 2alive.
the 2alive crew picked up a Nerf gun one day , and then one gun became like 20 guns and that became a pass time for us. So that became this blog and stuffs. Errr hi.
